I don't seem to see any forums in this format…

I've downloaded and installed a half dozen php variants looking for something that would emulate this kind of environment, but I'm starting to come to the conclusion that all forums in the open source (or even licensed) model all look like phpBB.

Without downloading every package, has anyone come across a system that can emulate this format? Seems to be the favourite format of investment forums...all messages dispayed in a subject listing, clicking reveals body of single message with nav to move to and from next/previous messages:

http://www.investorvillage.com/smbd.asp?mb=445
http://ragingbull.quote.com/mboard/boar … board=AAPL
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/bo … oard_id=64

Mostly asp…but even searches from those vendors yielded nothing.

It seems to me it's really a display mode, rather than one particular piece of software, but I can't even seem to find a mod or style that comes close.

Any advice would be appreciated - thanks in advance!

i think your going to be stuck, most do follow the phpbb design, mostly because its just so clean and easy to use.

you may want to look at Phorum, which is the closest to what you are looking for
